Stone collected from the church grounds area of the Church of the Sepulchre of Saint Mary (the Tomb of the Virgin) in the Kidron Valley, Jerusalem.
To serve as a devotional object, the stone was taken inside the sanctuary and placed directly upon the stone bench of the Tomb of the Virgin.
Classification: This item is classified as a "touch relic" (third-class relic). By resting upon the sacred site, the stone acts as a vessel for the essence and blessing of the location.
