This Candle was lit directly from the Holy Fire during the historic ceremony on Holy Saturday, April 19, 2025, at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.
The 2025 ceremony was particularly significant as it marked a rare "Shared Easter," where both Orthodox and Western Christian traditions celebrated the Resurrection on the same weekend. This flame was received by the Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theophilos III within the tomb of Jesus (the Edicule) and passed to the faithful in a celebration of light and hope.
