This brimstone specimen was gathered from the remains of the sites traditionally associated with Sodom and Gomorrah, located in the Dead Sea Valley—the lowest and most extreme environment on Earth. These formations have been preserved for over 3,500 years, and their unique composition has puzzled geologists. No similar naturally occurring brimstone formations have been documented elsewhere.

Analysis of the evidence suggests that these sites are neither dried lake deposits nor volcanic in origin. The description in Genesis 19:24 remains the most fitting explanation for their presence.
